Smudge's Six-minute Sermon( 16th May )
“How many times should we forgive lord? seven times?'no' said the lord 'but seventy times seven ”
Message of the week
A very well known passage this week and an often misunderstood subject, forgiveness. We are all taught to forgive, that isn't hard to understand but why? Well' Jesus was nailed to the cross, he was the son of god, and to recieve forgiveness the ancients would offer a sacrifice. These all tie together. For the forgiveness of our sins there had to be a sacrifice, but the weight of the worlds sin there had to be a sacrifice pure of heart and perfect in God's eyes. Jesus was the only man or being that would suffice. In other words our sins nailed him to that cross and he died for us so we can be forgiven. We also need to forgive others. Not just other people but the church, too. They make mistakes as they have to walk a very fine line between alienating christians and accepting the immoral. This has lead to the acceptance of homosexuals, abortion and women priests. We must understand their predicament and accept some actions are not made with true feeling but are made at the fear of alienating the unsaved majority.
Quote of the week
“second chances, everyone without exception needs them and hence should offer them”.
Prayer of the week
Dear most glorious father help me to forgive, we are told in this world we will meet hardships and people will say and do things to upset us. Help us to forgive them as by your sons death on the cross you seaved us.
Also pray for…

Ok, im currently writing this from my bed in Cardiff hospital under the influence of drugs, so please excuse any grammatical mistakes that i may make.
I would just like to question your one statment made:
"They make mistakes as they have to walk a very fine line between alienating christians and accepting the immoral. This has lead to the acceptance of homosexuals, abortion and women priests."
I can understand your reasoning on the homosexuals part, but not at all on the abortion part (but thats another story).
What i completely and strongly disagree with however is saying that women priests are immoral. Where in the bible does it say "Thou does not have a penis, therefore thou cannot become a priest"?
You may have your blue bible with you saying that women priests are not allowed to become ministers (or even speak in church), but using your own common-sense, what is wrong with women becoming priests? I honestly didnt know that having a dick was such a crucial part of giving sermons these days.

Well good to see you're getting better mate. We're missing you loads!!
In response to your point. The bible is there to follow not to disobey just because modern slack-moralled culture says it's allright! It says in the bible that women priests are immoral and as we pointed out on Friday every part of the bible is "God-breathed". Who is to say that disobeying that passage is any more right or wrong than disobeying the ten commandments and going out and commiting murder!!!
Also I know in my heart I feel uncomfortable recieving communion from a woman when it is so clearly vilified in the bible. It is no co-incidence that the largest christian denomonation is the one which doesn't accept women priests!!
Anyway gota go to lessons fraid!! So keep improving butt. Is it all good there. Hope the revision is going well and we see you back here soon.

It also says that women are not allowed to speak in churches either...but is that fair? Using your "God-breathed" point, women speaking in churches is no better than committing murder, right?
I cant exactly say i agree your argument here...so just answer me one question.
If you had to choose between two people becoming a priest (a convict male who did not repent of his sins, or a law-abiding, holy woman...who would you choose)?

Neither are acceptable to be priests so no church in their right mind would accept either. They would use lay preachers until a suitable applicant came along.
On your is that fair point. From a human point of view I would agree it doesn't seem fair!! But who knows what is fair in Gods eyes. No one knows his mind just like why does he let bad things happen to good people?? we don't know.
Sins are all seen equal in Gods eyes to the degree that they can all be forgiven because Jesus died on the cross for us all. Obviously God takes circumstances into account..feeding starving family e.t.c.
If the man was unrepentant chances are he isn't a christian anyway. But being an ex-con doesn't expell you from the family of Christ. Indeed many people find the Lord in jail!!
But bottom line women priests are against what the bible teaches and just because we don't think it's fair doesn't mean it's right for us to Ignore the bibles teaching on it!
See you next week butt
